Graduated from Kansas State University in 1995. In his second year in college, he founded a company called Midwest Software Sales Company, selling software on the Internet.
From 1995 to 2005, served as Vice President in Beso Biological Research Inc..
From 1997, served as Chairman of BESO BIOLOGICAL (FUZHOU) INC., responsible for managing the company and as well as engaged in cancer research.
In 1999, returned to China and established NetDragon Websoft Inc..
In 2003, established game development company TQ Digital Entertainment.
With 12 years' experience in company management and 8 years’ experience in game development practice.
In addition, he also served as Chairman for Fujian Youth Association for Network Development, Vice Chairman for Fujian Youth Entrepreneur Association, member of the Chinese Association of Young Scientists and Technicians and Youth Business China (YBC) project mentor.

Major achievements
Led by Mr. Dejian Liu, NetDragon has become a leader for China`s national online games and a pioneer in tapping the overseas markets. After successfully built the No.1 Chinese online game portal site WWW.17173.COM, NetDragon switched to focus on online game development. It is one of the first companies which release in-house developed online games and the first Chinese company which successfully expands into the overseas markets and makes great achievements. It is the largest Chinese online game operator in the American market. It is operating games in six language markets and has established cooperation with many world-famous enterprises. It obtained "Chinese Games Overseas Expansion" award and "Ten Best Game Developers" award granted by the General Administration of Press and Publication and the Ministry of Information Industry three years in a row, and received six awards from the 2006 PLAY100 in China and many other special honours.
